IDL for Students was developed in direct
response to the growing need in the student and academic community for a low-cost entry
into the world of IDL analysis and visualization for students. IDL for Students allows
students to explore the ideas and concepts being taught in today's highly technical
curricula such as engineering, physics, medicine, computer science, astronomy and earth
sciences. It provides the opportunity for valuable, hands-on IDL development experience at
a fraction of the cost of a commercial license.
IDL for Students integrates a powerful and flexible programming language with solid
mathematical and statistical libraries, and state-of-the-art graphics. This powerful
amalgam creates a complete data analysis and scientific visualization environment perfect
for today’s advanced technical courses.
IDL for Students is priced at 75 € for a full, 12-month term license and is available
in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Student Edition Limitations
- Computers running MacOS X or Linux need an ethernet card
- MPEG license feature is not available with the IDL Student Edition.
- Network licenses are not available. For Network, Lab or Department Licenses of the IDL
software for qualifying degree granting institutions please refer to the Academic Program Page.
- Software Maintenance (Technical Support, Updates, License Transfers) is not included
with an IDL for Students license.

Terms of Use
IDL for Students is licensed for Student Use only. The software may be installed and used
only on a single computer system owned by a student pursuing a degree at a college,
university, or high school. The license is terminated after 12 month or when the Licensee
is no longer a student pursuing a degree at a college or university, and the Licensee
agrees to cease using the IDL for Students software and agrees to destroy all copies of
the software. IDL for Students is not designed to replace CREASO Academic Programs such as
Individual, Lab, or Department Licenses offered to Educational Institutions. Professional,
commercial, government, or other usage of an IDL for Students license is strictly
prohibited.

IDL for Students is priced at 75 € in Germany, Austria,
Switzerland and the Netherlands. Prices include tax, shipping and handling fees.
Customs charges or duties are the responsibility of the purchaser. IDL for Students is
available only for students pursuing degrees at high schools, colleges and universities.
